Her Unexpected Husband- 30

PREVIOUS PART

He shivered at the intensity of her wet kisses. Not in his wild dreams he thought Khushi will be a seductress one day. Unknowingly he hummed at her in response. Khushi possessed a winning smile, proud of finding a winning secret.

“Will you not speak to me?” She further questioned placing her head on his arm.

Arnav sighed succumbing to her romantic wooing ways. Turning around, he palmed her cheeks, “Have you thought of repercussions of your actions? She’s not normal and you’re hell-bent on keeping her here. And what is it allowing everyone here? We aren’t running any charity Khushi. You have your exams coming around at the end of this month. But seems like you’re no more interested in living your life and achieving your goals.”

She pouts gripping his hand and said, “It’s not like that Arnavji. I can manage everything. Do not worry. But please, don’t keep yourself away from me ever. It hurts.”

“Who asked you to invite her then?” He accused averting his vision.

Khushi grimaced at his persistence on the same thing. She gripped his jaws and made him meet her eyes, “You can’t simply wash off your participation in her life Arnavji. If she’s obsessed beyond a limit, I am sure she must have expressed it beforehand itself which you conveniently failed to notice. And also I did not invite her to give away my husband.”

“You’re being overconfident in this matter Khushi.” Arnav said not convinced by her explanations. Whatever reason it may be, she shouldn’t have invited the person who’s a threat to their life. He’s still upset with her and it’ll go away only if Lavanya vanish from their life. Whatever sisterly feelings he had for Lavanya evaporated, the moment she gave names to Khushi.

“Says the man who cried buckets yesterday.”, Khushi teased changing the topic, knowing the conversation they’re having is not going to be fruitful.

Arnav widens his eyes at his wife’s avatar and rolled her beneath him.

“What are you doing? Meera is here.” She whispered in a fret.

Arnav raised his brow with a smirk, finding his innocent shy Khushi back “Oh really? Where did this thought go when you practically enticed me?”

“I… didn’t… You didn’t speak to me. What can I do?” She mumbled in low decibel, lowering her eyelids.

“Glad I was angry. Now call me as you did earlier.” Arnav whispered on her ear, nuzzling her temple.

“Arnavji…” Khushi whispered mischievously garlanding his neck.

“Not ‘Ji’.” He said with a frown and lifted his head to met her eyes.

“Golden words are not repeated.”

“So my name is gold for you?”

“No, Gold is an asset whereas my Arnavji is beyond any assessment.” She answered from her heart spreading her love to spill over them.

Overwhelmed by her words, he engulfed her in his arms, letting his heart to sync with hers. Khushi welcomed his weight wholeheartedly, hugging him to her heart. Both relished the brief silence, feeling their newly bloomed love.

Khushi is the first one to come out from their land, noticing the surroundings. She broke the hug, pushing him away from her, “Let’s sleep now. It’s getting late.” He whined coming over her again.

“We’ve to rise earlier Arnavji. Sleep now.” She ordered escaping from his arms.

“Why?”

“What why? You have important work to finish in the morning.” Answered Khushi hinting at something which he has no idea.

“What work?” He dived further into the questioning section, getting down from her.

Khushi rolled on her side to face him, “To fold your untidy clothes.”

“Excuse me?” He looked bewildered hearing newly assigned work.

She laughed inwardly at his perplexed frame and adopted a stern face outwardly, “It’s your punishment for your yesterday behaviour.”

He quickly recalled his memory and scolded himself remembering how he laughed at her childish anger when she trampled his ironed shirts after hearing brutal words from him. Now he has to bear the burnt for both laughing and speaking those harsh words. He plastered a sad face just by the mere envision of folding all those clothes. To be honest, however, he says and believes both are of equal partners, he simply cannot do some things which Khushi excels and doing chores comes top on that priority. So, it's indeed a punishment for him. After envisaging his punishment, he looks at Khushi innocently who at the moment showed her back. He inched closer to her wrapping his arms around her waist. Khushi took a sharp breath as he nuzzled her ear from behind. She gripped his palm on her belly and patted it softly, “Sleep.” Arnav hummed closing his eyes exhausted by the events.

“Done eavesdropping?”

She turned around in shock hearing a known voice behind her. She battled her lashes and avoid looking at him. She stood for a minute and silently went inside feeling his scrutinizing gaze over her.

“I did not eavesdrop anything.” She felt the need to clear her stance as his gaze examined her closely.

His eyebrows twisted and his facial expression is fully occupied by mistrust, “You want me to trust this lie?”

“Depends on you.” She shrugged her shoulders casually moving towards the bed.

He glared at her retreating figure and walked towards her determinedly. She was about to lie down on the bed when he grabbed her arm.

“You know, why she did like this?” He asked with his sharp gaze fixated on her.

“How'll I know? I'm not a mind-reader.” She answered carelessly.

“I don't know why you're not acknowledging what is the reality and what is happening in front of you. Do you realise the intensity of the risk she has taken only for YOU by going against Arnav?” He asked mildly yet firmly.

Her face looks disturbed for a minute before it turns impassive again.

“Rekha this is not done. She has gone against me and Arnav only for you to not feel guilty. She has seen how you pleaded to Arnav. I guess she comes to know about your guilt trip. That's why she did something like this else who'll place their marriage at stake.”

“Don't weave stories to make your daughter-in-law high on my eyes.” She replied annoyed as her heart started to think on those lines.

“Why will I weave when it happened in front of my eyes? Had you seen how silently she stood supporting Arnav? Then out of blue, she allowed Lavanya to stay and stood firm on her decision. Can't you notice her efforts on supporting and bringing our family together? If you can't see all this, then tell me why will she take efforts on curing Lavanya? Who is Lavanya to her? For her, she's a mere girl clinging on her husband and trying to steal him. Who on the sane mind will help an annoying girl of their life? Unless she has to do it for Arnav or for us. Arnav clearly showed Lavanya the door and only we're left. And for your information, she clearly knows how you and your friend installed the obsession on Lavanya mind…

Khushi is trying to downgrade your sin, Rekha. She's participating in our sad times proving her presence and responsibilities of our family. She attached herself very easily with our family taking part in our ups and downs. But here you're not even ready to accept her let alone acknowledge her rights and efforts.”

“Is it a stunt to impress me?” Rekha asked widening her eyes clearly ignoring the guilty part.

Raj shook his head at her way of interpreting skills. She takes what she wants leaving the important content aside. Such a stubborn woman.

“God only can bless you with a sane mind.” Raj uttered in detest, taking his place on the bed.

Rekha throws a careless look at him and took her place beside him. Both rendered silence and slept showing their back to each other.

Khushi stirred in her sleep sensing someone's presence around her. Fluttering her eyes she tore her eyelids and looked around sleepily. She found none and is about to close her eyes when her vision caught the sight of Lavanya near her head.

Khushi eyes widened in no time. Sleep flew away and she tried to get up hastily only to fall back by the grip on her waist. Her eyeballs instantly captured Arnav’s warm arm around her waist and her vision moved to Lavanya who's also seeing Arnav hand. Khushi gulped seeing the fury on Lavanya eyes. Yet she didn't show anything and didn't try to come out of his hold either. She thought to wake Arnav but dropped the idea knowing her sleepy husband who'll sleep even if you throw a rock on him. She closed her eyes for a brief time as if adjusting her mood to handle the situation and asked opening her eyes, “Do you need anything Lavanya ji?”

“I need Arnav.” Lavanya answered with a dangerous look, lurking at Arnav and his closeness with Khushi.

“NO.”

Two voices resonated simultaneously waking even the sleepy Arnav in the process.

Khushi looked shocked at the person who told the same answer as hers. Lavanya looked pale seeing the person who supported Khushi.

“It's time to leave from Arnav life, Lav.”
