Her Unexpected Husband- 33

arshi

PREVIOUS PART

*33*

“You haven't revealed why you broke the mobile yet?” Arnav questioned leaning on the headrest.

Khushi crawled upwards and rested her head on his lap. Arnav fingers instantly found its way inside her scalp. While Khushi gripped his other hand against her chest and begun to narrate the incident that made her aggressive for the very first time in her life.

“You did the right thing Khushi. How dare he? I can't believe people of your own family could stoop so down to this level. And your father…” He fisted his fingers in anger but instantly changes his expression not wanting to upset her, “I can buy you any number of phones for your brave act.” He said proudly, nuzzling her head, inhaling her fruity fragrance.

“Haha… Arnavji you're inviting trouble for yourself.” She cackled at his offer.

“Naughty girl.” He pinched her cheeks feeling extremely happy to engage in a cute conversation with her.

“And I haven’t met your maasi yet. Her love for you seems genuine. Moreover, I’ll be happy to meet someone from your family who cares for my wife amidst of ungrateful people.” He added.

Khushi blinked her eyes in approval, “She’ll be happy to meet you.”

“Ok. Enough of your escapism. Study NOW.” Arnav dismissed their casual talks and tried to wake her from his lap.

She looked at him grumpily and twisted her lips, “You’re rude.”

“Yes, I am! Get up now.” He nudged her shoulders, urging her to get up. She grumpily lifted her head, “You’re dominating.”

“Yes, I am.” He uttered taking his laptop.

“You’re no more my old Arnavji.” She tried persuading him emotionally.

“You know what? You’re sounding like a school kid who's finding reasons to play at study time.”

“Arnavji…” She whined slapping his arm.

“See you’re proving it.” Arnav added.

Getting agitated by his strictness, she gritted her teeth and pinched his arm.

“Ouch…” He rubbed his arm where she pinched and said, “See again you’re proving it. Pinching the one who refrains your wishes. Only kids would do like this.”

“ARNAVJI…” She screamed in sheer anger. She couldn’t control her fury seeing him not complying to her wishes. It’s not that she’s careless with her studies like he thinks. She genuinely wants to spend time with him and he’s not giving her that.

“If you keep doing like this then I'm going to office Khushi.” Arnav threatened seriously which worked well with her.

She looked at him keenly gauging whether he’s saying the truth or simply playing with her. But the determination in his eyes which lacks what she has in her eyes now irritated her more. Only she’s desperate for his attention not him, “Ok fine, I'll study. Happy NOW?”

“VERY MUCH.” He gave extra pressure to his answer like she did while questioning.

Twisting her lips, she took her book and sat showing her back to him. Arnav looked at her with his scrutinizing gaze not believing her sudden change. He needs to be sure about her study and not oozing around. He knows she’s hell angry with him for his strictness. But he has to be strict. It’s hardly a month left for her exam and if he keeps dancing on her tunes, she’ll get distracted and ignore her studies for his attention. He wants to be her strength, not distraction.

“Stop being my headmaster.” She mumbled under her breath.

Arnav though heard her, he didn’t react knowing the conversation is not leading anywhere but only gulps the time. Getting a null response from him, Khushi has no option but oblige his order.

It’s said right, Time doesn’t wait for anyone. It passes like a gust that we like it or not we’ve to keep moving to not get isolated in this vast land. Likewise, Lavanya treatment has begun. She was taken to another city for treatment. Unknowingly the psychiatric sessions she took has started to create an impact on her mind. She started to think less about Arnav and more of her own feelings. Feelings which she mistook under circumstances. Feelings which is forcefully fed into her mind from her childhood. Feelings which are not her own but created artificially. Feelings which restricted her from thinking sanely.

Meanwhile, having less coverage under Khushi, Meera's love grows stably without anyone interruptions. In fact, she got more time than earlier to spend it with Abhay owing to Khushi's sole concentration shifted to Arnav & her studies. And, Khushi doesn't feel the need to look after Meera because she trusts her. A blind Trust.

And comes the love birds who never look back and led their life in their own created cocoon. He supported her in all possible ways and she took strength and courage from him without any hesitation. After that day Khushi never really ignored or lamented over studying for exams. In fact, she took it way too seriously and her interest over subjects made her go up to reach the sky. Occasional kisses & hugs are what kept them alive amidst of her strictly planned schedule and exams. Often she felt exhausted and distracted due to the gap in her studies but he stood like a pillar supporting her in every step. Though he’s not good at household chores, he gave his helping hand. Adding to that, her father-in-law who replaced the father figure also called her daily and cheered her up. Life wouldn’t be better than these days that they didn’t realise that more than a month passed after Lavanya fiasco.

“Hey, buddy… What’s your plan for this festive week?”

Arnav swirled on his chair hearing Aakash voice. A small smile crept on his face as he shared his plans.

“Planning a trip to Shimla for three days Aakash. Khushi’s exam finished last week and even Meera is free too. Moreover, Lavanya is coming here. I don’t know what will happen after her arrival. So planning to…”

“Romance in the given gap.” Aakash finished his sentence with a teasing grin.

“Shut up! It’s not like what you think.” Arnav denied vehemently.

“Why? What happened? I don’t see any wrong between you two.” Aakash asked hastily feeling anxious by his answer.

“Nothing Aakash… Remember, You wanted to say something important to me. What is it?” Arnav jumped into another topic which he ignored a few times during Lavanya fiasco.

“What important?” Aakash looked at him with a frown. Once, the thing which he desperately wanted to share almost skipped his mind when Arnav asked.

“Forgot already?” Arnav raised his brows in question knowing his infamous memory loss.

Aakash looked at him keenly and his eyes got a glint next instant, “Yeah, I remember now. It’s all about your dear sister-in-law.”

Arnav sat straight in alert, “What about her?”

“She’s in love.”

Arnav looked at him shocked, “What? Are you mad? She’s school going kid Aakash. Don’t declare a fact based on assumptions.”

Aakash grimaced when Arnav refused to believe him, “Why would I assume something which is not present. It is very much true Arnav. I saw it with my own eyes.”

“I can’t believe it. Maybe you mistook someone else as Meera.” Arnav argued still not believing the fact that the Lil’ girl whom his wife nurtured and put her entire trust has deviated from her path. He’s not blind of her wife dreams for her sister. He is very much aware that Khushi wants Meera to get well settled with a high profile job. More than her own dream, Khushi respects Meera dream and is desperate to fulfill it.

“You’ve to believe it Arnav. I came to know this matter on your marriage day. When I went to buy something for Khushi I saw her with a boy Arnav. When confronted her she accepted her affair and even said Khushi knows everything. But I doubt Khushi’s knowledge about this. You’ve to be careful Arnav. One Lavanya is enough in your life for problems.”

“I don’t think Khushi has the slightest idea about this matter.” Arnav sighed rubbing his temple.

“I guess so. These days it becomes a fashion to fall in love like a swipe of a mobile screen. Just a small gesture of affection people mistook it as Love. When the relationship progresses they struggle to understand each other and it becomes a daily battle to keep their relationship running resulting in disappointment. And the same people will lament and spread detest about Love. Meera is a teenager, so it’s already a complicated battle to fight.”

“You’re right. It’s complicated. I just hope Khushi handle this easily. Also, as far as I know, Meera is not like Khushi to understand everything easily. She seems like stubborn…

“And Repulsive…” Aakash finished his sentence.

“Tsk… tsk… I don’t know why problems took a lease on our life. I’ll speak to Meera before she threw a bomb like Lavanya in an unexpected day.”

“Deal with extra care Arnav. It’s sensitive as well.”

Arnav embraced his tips and nodded in approval. He meticulously prepared a plan and decided to end this matter today itself. Some things should be taken care immediately.
