Her Unexpected Husband- 34

arshi

PREVIOUS PART

*34*

“You came?”

Arnav eyes rose up from his shoes which he’s currently working on taking it off and looked weirdly at his extra enthusiastic welcoming wife who’s showing her whitey pearl teeth. Her face is glittering in an additional glow and her eyes are dancing in a new rhythm. She came forward and took his bag with a smiley reaction pasted on her face.

“What is brewing Khushi?” He couldn’t help but voice out his mind seeing a strange excitement on her face.

“Coffee is brewing, Arnavji. Freshen up. I’ll bring it to you.” Khushi answered hastily, fluttering like a butterfly.

He frowned at her retreating figure tethering his wandering thoughts around his wife. More than her sweet coated weird behaviour Meera issue stood predominant in his mind. With the same thought, he entered the washroom and came out refreshing only to get surprised to see the extra smile still lingering on his wife's face. His eyes also didn’t fail to capture the coffee mug. After drying his face, he was about to throw the towel on the bed when the sudden thought popped on his mind. Immediately he throws the towel on Khushi shoulder very well knowing Khushi is not fond of untidiness. He waited for her to whine or scold him for his act but nothing sort of it happened instead she hung the towel to dry with the same smiling face.

‘Stay alert Arnav. She’s buttering you for something.’ His brain warned in alarm.

“Arnavji your coffee is getting cold.” It’s Khushi herself who came after hanging the towel saw him stood still in the midst of the room.

“Huh…”

Khushi chuckled inwardly enjoying his confused state. She’s very much aware of her husband trail of thoughts and his ways of getting the things out of her. Silently she handed his coffee and gripped his shirt buttons which are undone on the top two levels. She slowly undid the remaining buttons taking no hurry in undoing it. Arnav scanned her each and every action with his microscopic eyes and struggled to decipher the reason behind her acts.

“Something… something… is happening to my wife…” He whispered noticing his wife’s lips strangely shut and is not going to open unless he persuades.

“Yes… Yes… Pyaar, Prema, Kaadhal, Love is happening.” She answered confidently yet one could find a mischievous glint on her eyes.

Arnav brows knitted in confusion. Somewhat he guessed Khushi is playing with him yet he couldn’t fully fathom her answer, “What? Who? What kaa...yeah Kaadhal?”

That’s it Khushi couldn’t hold her act anymore and burst out laughing.

“Khushi…” He whined like a school kid who’s been teased by his siblings.

She stopped her laughter and clutched her lips between her teeth from laughing aloud.

Arnav glared her, “Stop laughing dammit. Tell me what all this? I’m already upset and you’re making me angry.”

Khushi’s expression changed instantly. Her face adopted seriousness and she pressed his cheeks softly, “What happened? I’m just playing.”

Arnav bit his lips with a raised brow, “Why is it written anywhere only Khushi Kumari Gupta has the rights to tease?”

It took one solid minute for Khushi to understand the meaning of his words. When it instilled on her mind, she beat him left and right, “Here I was worried about you and you’re teasing me.”

“Hey stop it, Khushi… This is not fair… You cannot beat your husband.”

“I can! He gave me permission.” She declared placing her hands on either side of her waist.

“What?” He probed forgetting that he gave her rights to do anything in the spur of the moment during their first fight.

“Forget it… You’re diverting the topic.” She exasperated gauging their talks heading somewhere which is not important at the moment.

Intaking a sharp breath, she quickly set her mood and pasted a smile.

“Do you have plans for this weekend? Shall we go somewhere, Arnavji? Mine and Meera exams were already finished. Also, you’re getting an extra two days off from your work. Why don’t we utilise this free time and go somewhere?” Khushi raised the topic for which she used some sugar-coated actions some moments before. Though she knows he’ll never turn down her wishes if she asks normally still she behaved extra sweetly, simply because she loved buttering him and gets thrilled by elevating spice in their relationship.

If she had asked this question before Aakash revealed about Meera, he would’ve happily packed her to another land. In fact, he was also in the plan for a trip but now… He’s not ready to take risks. He has to inspect Meera to confirm Aakash accusations. Not that he’s distrusting Aakash but as a close family member he feels the need of knowing her more before taking any actions in this issue. If they go on a trip, he cannot concentrate on anything wholeheartedly. He had enough of acting impulsive on Lavanya matter itself. He has to plan carefully.

“No Khushi. This is not possible now. We can plan this on some other day.” He opposed averting his eyes. He has no strength to see the disappointment on her eyes nor he can fulfil her wish this time.

Khushi startled at his answer. She isn't expecting his denial. She's used to hear 'yes' from him always that she expected him to grab the given opportunity. But when he denied right away, tears brimmed in her eyes and her lips trembled at the intensity of her inner turmoil. Her head hung down instantly not liking to show him her crying frame. Summoning up all this, anger also added to the list as the disappointment fades gradually by time. Vehemently she wiped her eyes and glared at him sternly.

“So you’ll not take us anywhere?” She questioned. Her voice itself told him that she’s determined to get her things done. But he’s not going to melt this time. Not at the cost of their happiness again. He can only think of some alone, pleasure moments when the threat of Meera affair goes off from their life. He’s determined to not get into her wishes and she’s determined as well to bend him to her wishes.

“Yes, not this time Khushi. Though I’ve two days off from my work, I’ve some unfinished works to finish.” He tried to convince her softly, shrugging away his already opened shirt.

“We can shrink our schedule Arnavji. First two days trip and the remaining days you can work.” She persuaded slightly coming down from her level.

Arnav cleared his throat searching words to convince her.

“I’ll not disturb you unnecessarily Arnavji.” She added seeing his impassive face. If it’s her plan she would’ve agreed to his reasons but the idea of outing trip solely belongs to her father-in-law who cleverly planted the importance of refreshing trips on her mind and she couldn’t come out of it just like that.

Seeing her curiousness on hearing his answer, he was almost convinced to oblige but their fight clearly taught him a lesson. How’ll he concentrate on their togetherness if his mind is hovering around Meera? How’ll he accompany her contently when his mind is drilling over the current issue? What if he torments Khushi more by his uncertainty? He cannot take risks henceforth, can he? That too after tasting the repercussions.

“Look Khushi, do you really think I’ll turn down your wish without a valid reason? Try to understand me. If I say, I’ll take you some other day I’ll. You’ve to trust me on that.” He said in a strict tone which helds the menace to not drag this discussion henceforth.

“Fine.” She pressed her lips tightly in annoyance. Her heart can understand his reasons but her brain is stubborn to accept it. She stood grumpily at the edge of the bed and let her eyes wander around randomly.

Sending her silence Arnav turned around and sighed himself at her petulant frame. Took a step towards her, he cleared her throat, “Khushi…”

Khushi ignored his call and clutched the hem of her dress playing with it. Though her concentration is keenly settled on the trail of her fingers, her all senses are in alert anticipating his moves.

“You haven’t answer me yet. You said something earlier, what is it?”

“I didn’t say anything.” She said twisting her lips.

Arnav smirked getting an idea to divert her, “Oh, really? Leave it. Seems like it's from our next door girl who said pyaar… prema… Kaadhal… Love…” His grin expanded seeing her rounded eyes. Chuckling inwardly, he moved towards wardrobe, “Help me to choose a decent shirt Khushi. I’ve to give answer to her na. First impression is the best…” He couldn’t able to complete the sentence, thanks to her sinful, luscious rose petals and tender, long arms. Both did their work simultaneously in a perfect manner but in a completely opposite way. One gave pain and the other gave pleasure compensating the pain.

“Our law needs amendment. One should add physical violence by a wife to her husband is also a punishable offence.”

Khushi giggled hearing his preposterous comment. Arnav tried to throw a glare at her but failed miserably seeing her sparkling face. What more he wants?

But if only he knows, his wife is not genuinely laughing as she shows. She’s pretty much disturbed, that too by his actions. If only he hasn’t withdrew from their passionate moment in the midst, the seed of doubt wouldn’t have been sowed on her mind. She isn’t blind to not notice the limitations he has put around himself near her. She felt the passion he has shown on initial stages of their marriage diminishing nowadays. These days it’s only from her side any intimation is initiated and Arnav forcefully ends even before it goes any further, let alone it cross the boundaries and make them one soul and two bodies. But to the contrary he’s very much supportive in other terms, that’s what started to eat her also.

    1. You're not over analysing Mayu, in original I've kept one or two scenes where she shows her love to her sister here I've cutted that part so this Meera looks harsh. But she's same as there. she'll not take wrong decision.
